Multi-Unit Residential Project
London
2018-2022
Kieran Wardle Architects designed two mews houses in north London to make use of a plot of land occupied by a light industrial yard. The contemporary mews houses were carefully planned for a particularly challenging site, were broad views were restricted by neighbouring buildings.
To address the limitation, both houses featured dual-aspect, open plan ground floor layouts extending from the front to the back of each home. Large, strategically placed windows allow natural light to flood the open plan living areas, maximising available daylight and making the most of any external views.
Each house was thoughtfully designed and included two double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms. The designs provided in-built flexibility, with potential for future expansion into the roof spaces, allowing both properties to grow in size.
